6–8 medium apples, peeled and sliced
1 cup granulated sugar
1 tablespoon cinnamon
1 tablespoon lemon juice
1 cup all-purpose flour
1/2 cup butter, softened
1/2 cup milk
Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) to ensure even baking.
Prepare the Apples: In a large mixing bowl, combine the sliced apples, granulated sugar, cinnamon, and lemon juice. Toss until the apples are evenly coated.
Layer the Apples: Transfer the apple mixture to a greased 9×13 inch baking dish, spreading it out evenly.
Make the Topping: In another bowl, mix the flour and softened butter until crumbly. Gradually add milk until the mixture is just combined and spreadable.
Assemble the Cobbler: Spoon the topping mixture evenly over the apple layer. Don’t worry if it doesn’t cover the apples completely; it will spread as it bakes!
Bake: Place the baking dish in the preheated oven and bake for 40-45 minutes or until the topping is golden brown and the apples are bubbling.
Cool and Serve: Once baked, let the cobbler cool for 10-15 minutes. Serve warm topped with ice cream or whipped cream if desired!
