Bloody Baked Brie

A fantastic appetizer perfect for Halloween, combining rich Brie cheese, sweet raspberry jam, and a splash of blood orange juice, all wrapped in flaky puff pastry.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 round Brie cheese
  • 1 sheet of puff pastry
  • 1/2 cup raspberry jam
  • 1/4 cup blood orange juice or cranberry juice
  • 1 egg (for egg wash)
  • Optional toppings: fresh herbs, sliced almonds

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. Roll out the sheet of puff pastry on a lightly floured surface.
  3. Place the round Brie cheese in the center of the rolled-out puff pastry.
  4. Spoon the raspberry jam generously on top of the Brie.
  5. Carefully fold the edges of the puff pastry over the Brie and seal well.
  6. Beat the egg and brush the egg wash over the entire surface of the pastry.
  7. Place the wrapped Brie on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper and bake for about 20 minutes.
  8. While baking, simmer the blood orange juice or cranberry juice in a saucepan until it thickens.
  9. Once baked, cool slightly and drizzle the thickened juice reduction over the top.
  10. Serve warm with optional toppings.

Notes

For added texture, consider adding nuts inside the pastry before sealing it. Serve warm with crackers, bread, or fresh fruits.
