Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough Twists

Delicious cookie dough wrapped in flaky puff pastry, creating a perfect treat for any occasion.

  • 1 sheet puff pastry, thawed
  • ½ cup chocolate chips (semi-sweet or milk chocolate)
  • ¼ cup brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon butter, melted
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)
  • Powdered sugar (for dusting)
  • 1 tablespoon of chopped nuts (optional, like pecans or almonds)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. Lay the thawed puff pastry out on a floured surface and roll it out gently.
  3. In a mixing bowl, combine chocolate chips, brown sugar, melted butter, and vanilla extract until well blended.
  4. Cut the puff pastry into rectangles about 3 inches wide and 4 inches long.
  5. Spoon cookie dough mixture down the center of each rectangle.
  6. Cut diagonal strips on each side of the filling about 1 inch apart and twist the outer strips over the filling.
  7. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and place twisted pastries on it, brushing the tops with beaten egg.
  8. Bake for 15-20 minutes until golden brown and puffy.
  9. Allow to cool slightly on a wire rack; dust with powdered sugar before serving.

Notes

For the best taste and texture, serve these twists warm right after baking. You can also experiment with different fillings and toppings.
