  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, at room temperature
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon salt

  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips

Instructions

  3. In a large bowl, cream the butter with granulated sugar, brown sugar, and salt until smooth.
  4. Add eggs and vanilla extract, mixing until light and fluffy.
  5. Gradually add the flour mixture to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined.
  6. Fold in the chocolate chips.
  7. Drop rounded tablespoons of dough onto ungreased baking sheets, leaving space between each cookie.
  8. Bake for 12-15 minutes or until golden brown around the edges.
  9. Cool on baking sheets for a few minutes, then transfer to wire racks to cool completely.

Notes

For best texture, ensure butter is at room temperature. Chilling the dough can improve flavor and prevent spreading.
