Chocolate Vanilla Swirl Cookies

Delightful cookies that combine rich chocolate and sweet vanilla flavors, perfect for any occasion.

  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup cocoa powder
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
  3. Add egg and vanilla; beat until combined.
  4. Mix flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt in another bowl.
  5. Gradually add dry ingredients to the wet mixture until just combined.
  6. Divide the dough in half; mix cocoa powder into one half.
  7. Roll both portions of dough and layer them together.
  8. Roll the layered dough into a log shape and chill for at least 30 minutes.
  9. Slice the logs into rounds and place on a baking sheet.
  10. Bake for 10-12 minutes, then cool on a wire rack.

Notes

For softer cookies, avoid overbaking and take them out when edges start to turn golden.
