Cinnamon Sugar Donut Bread

A delightful treat that combines the warm flavors of cinnamon and sugar with the comforting texture of bread, perfect for brunch or as a sweet snack.

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon kosher salt
  • 1 cup whole milk
  • 1 large egg
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter (melted)
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter (melted, for topping)
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar (for topping)
  • 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon (for topping)
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×5 inch loaf pan.
  2. In a bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, baking powder, salt, and nutmeg until well combined.
  3. In a separate bowl, mix whole milk, egg, melted butter, and vanilla until fully combined.
  4. Gradually add the wet mixture to the dry mixture, stirring gently until just combined.
  5. In a small bowl, mix the topping ingredients: melted butter, granulated sugar, and ground cinnamon.
  6. Pour half the batter into the loaf pan, sprinkle half of the topping over it, then add the remaining batter and finish with the rest of the topping.
  7. Bake for 50 to 60 minutes, checking with a toothpick for doneness.
  8. Allow to cool in the pan for 10 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

Serve warm, toasted, or with maple syrup for an extra treat. Store properly to keep it fresh.
