1 lb ground beef or turkey
1 medium onion, diced
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 can (28 oz) crushed tomatoes
6 cups chicken or vegetable broth
8 oz lasagna noodles, broken
1 cup heavy cream
1 cup mozzarella cheese, shredded
1/2 cup Parmesan cheese, grated
Salt and pepper, to taste
In a large pot, heat some olive oil over medium heat. Add the ground meat and break it up with a spatula. Cook until browned, about 5-7 minutes. Drain any excess fat if necessary.
Add the diced onion and minced garlic to the pot. Sauté until the onion becomes translucent, approximately 3-4 minutes.
Stir in the crushed tomatoes and broth. Bring the mixture to a simmer.
Once simmering, add the broken lasagna noodles. Cook according to package instructions until al dente, usually around 10 minutes.
