Creamy Scalloped Potatoes

Warm and comforting creamy scalloped potatoes, perfect for any occasion with rich cheese and a satisfying texture.

  • 4 large russet potatoes, thinly sliced
  • 2 cups heavy cream
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 cup shredded Gruyere cheese
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon paprika
  • 2 tablespoons butter (for greasing the dish)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Grease a large baking dish with butter.
  3. In a large bowl, mix together the heavy cream, minced garlic, salt, black pepper, and paprika.
  4. Layer half of the sliced potatoes at the bottom of the prepared baking dish.
  5. Pour half of the cream mixture over the potatoes, then sprinkle half of the cheddar and Gruyere cheeses on top.
  6. Add another layer with the remaining potato slices.
  7. Pour the remaining cream mixture over the second layer and top with the leftover cheddar and Gruyere cheeses.
  8. Sprinkle grated Parmesan cheese on top.
  9. Cover with foil and bake for about 45 minutes.
  10. Remove the foil and bake for an additional 15-20 minutes until the top is golden brown and the potatoes are tender.
  11. Let the dish cool for 10 minutes before serving.
