Creepy Deviled Eggs

These spooky deviled eggs are a fun and delicious treat perfect for Halloween gatherings. Easy to make and delightful to eat!

  • 6 large eggs
  • 3 tablespoons mayonnaise
  • 1 teaspoon mustard
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Black olives (for decoration)
  • Red food coloring (optional)
  • Green food coloring (optional)

Instructions

  1. Hard boil the eggs: Place the eggs in a pot of cold water. Bring to a boil over medium-high heat, cover, remove from heat, and let sit for 10-12 minutes. Transfer to ice water to cool.
  2. Peel the eggs: Once cool, tap the eggs on a hard surface and peel under running water.
  3. Slice the eggs in half: Cut each peeled egg in half lengthwise and place the whites on a serving plate, cut side up.
  4. Remove the yolks: Scoop out the yolks into a bowl without breaking the whites.
  5. Make the filling: Mash the yolks and mix in mayonnaise, mustard, salt, and pepper until smooth.
  6. Add coloring: Mix in optional red or green food coloring for a spooky look.
  7. Fill the egg whites: Use a spoon or piping bag to fill the egg whites with the yolk mixture.
  8. Decorate with eyes: Place halved black olives on top of the filling for decoration.
  9. Serve chilled: Refrigerate until ready to serve.

Notes

Store leftovers in the refrigerator for 2-3 days, covered. For best quality, consume within one day or two.
