Crispy Quick Bang Bang Shrimp

A quick and flavorful dish featuring crispy shrimp coated in a creamy and spicy bang bang sauce, perfect as an appetizer or main course.

  • 1 pound Raw shrimp (deveined & peeled)
  • 1/2 cup Mayonnaise
  • 1/4 cup Thai sweet chili sauce
  • 1 clove Minced garlic
  • 1 tablespoon Sriracha
  • 1/2 cup Milk
  • 2 tablespoons Sour cream
  • 2 teaspoons Lemon juice
  • 1/2 cup All-purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup Cornstarch
  • 1/2 teaspoon Salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon Ground black pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon Paprika
  • Oil for frying

Instructions

  1. Rinse the shrimp under cold water, removing shells and deveining. Pat dry with a paper towel.
  2. In a bowl, combine mayonnaise, Thai sweet chili sauce, minced garlic, Sriracha, sour cream, and lemon juice. Mix until smooth.
  3. Set up a coating station: Place milk in one bowl and mix all-purpose flour, cornstarch, salt, black pepper, and paprika in another.
  4. Dip each shrimp in milk and then in the flour mixture, ensuring full coverage. Set aside.
  5. Heat oil in a frying pan over medium-high heat until it reaches 325°F (163°C).
  6. Fry the shrimp in batches for 2-3 minutes on each side until golden brown and crispy. Drain on a paper towel-lined plate.
  7. Drizzle homemade bang bang sauce over the shrimp and garnish as desired. Serve immediately.

Notes

For best results, ensure shrimp are dry before coating and maintain oil temperature while frying.
