  • 3/4 cup Unsweetened Cocoa Powder
  • 1 teaspoon Baking Soda
  • 1 teaspoon Baking Powder
  • 1/2 cup Butter (unsalted, softened)
  • 1 cup Granulated Sugar
  • 1/2 cup Brown Sugar (dark brown preferred)
  • 2 large Eggs
  • 3 large Bananas (very ripe or blackened)
  • 1 cup Semi-Sweet Chocolate Chips
  • 1/2 cup Heavy Cream
  • 1 teaspoon Vanilla Extract (pure preferred)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×5-inch loaf pan.

  3. In a large mixing bowl, cream together softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy.
  4. Add eggs one at a time, incorporating well before adding the next. Mash the ripe bananas and mix with vanilla extract; combine with creamed mixture.
  5. Gradually fold in the dry ingredients until just combined.
  6. Fold in semi-sweet chocolate chips.
  7. Slowly add heavy cream, folding until the batter is smooth.
  8. Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan and smooth the top.
  9. Bake for approximately 60 minutes, checking for doneness with a toothpick.
  10. Allow to cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

For best results, use very ripe bananas and avoid overmixing the batter.
