Delicious Noodle Kugel

A comforting noodle kugel that combines sweet creamy cheeses with a hint of cinnamon, perfect for any occasion.

  • 12 oz wide egg noodles
  • 1 tsp kosher salt
  • 16 oz sour cream
  • 16 oz cottage cheese
  • 8 oz cream cheese
  • 4 large eggs
  • 4 Tbsp unsalted butter (melted)
  • 1 Tbsp vanilla extract
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 Tbsp cinnamon
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar (additional)
  • 1 tsp cinnamon (additional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Boil water in a large pot and add egg noodles with 1 teaspoon of kosher salt. Cook until al dente, about 6 to 8 minutes, then drain.
  3. In a mixing bowl, combine sour cream, cottage cheese, and cream cheese until smooth.
  4. Add eggs, melted butter, vanilla extract, 3/4 cup of sugar, and 1 tablespoon of cinnamon to the cheese mixture. Stir well.
  5. Gently fold in the cooked noodles.
  6. Grease a 9×13 inch baking dish and pour the noodle mixture into it, spreading it out evenly.
  7. Combine the remaining 1/4 cup of sugar and 1 teaspoon of cinnamon in a small bowl and sprinkle it over the top.
  8. Bake for 45 minutes to 1 hour until golden brown and set in the middle.
  9. Allow to cool for a few minutes before serving.

Notes

Serve warm or at room temperature. For extra flavor, top with sour cream or syrup. Customize with raisins or fruits as desired.
