2 cups all-purpose flour
1/2 cup granulated sugar
1/2 cup unsalted butter, cold and cubed
4 cups peeled and sliced apples
1 teaspoon cinnamon
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/4 cup salted caramel sauce
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Prepare a 9×13-inch baking dish by greasing it lightly or lining it with parchment paper.
In a mixing bowl, combine all-purpose flour, sugar, and salt. Add the cold, cubed butter and mix until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Press this mixture evenly into the bottom of the prepared baking dish to form the crust. Bake for 10 minutes or until lightly golden.
While the crust is baking, mix the sliced apples with cinnamon and a sprinkle of sugar. Adjust sweetness based on the tartness of your apples.
Remove the crust from the oven and layer the apple mixture evenly over the baked crust. Drizzle the salted caramel sauce over the apples.
Return the dish to the oven and bake for an additional 25-30 minutes, or until the apples are tender and the top is lightly browned.
Allow the bars to cool completely in the pan. Once cooled, cut into squares and drizzle any remaining caramel sauce on top before serving.
