Garlic Smashed Potatoes

A delightful twist on traditional mashed potatoes, featuring a rich garlic flavor and a rustic texture.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 pounds potatoes
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1/4 cup butter
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Fresh parsley for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Wash and cut the potatoes into even-sized chunks. Place in a large pot, cover with cold water, and bring to a boil. Cook for 15-20 minutes until tender.
  2. Drain the potatoes and return to the pot. Let them sit on low heat for a few minutes to evaporate excess moisture.
  3. Add minced garlic, milk, butter, salt, and pepper to the potatoes. Stir until well combined.
  4. Use a potato masher to smash the mixture, leaving some chunks for texture.
  5. Transfer to a serving dish and garnish with fresh parsley if desired.

Notes

For a creamier texture, use heavy cream instead of milk.
