German Vanilla Crescent Cookies

  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup ground almonds or walnuts
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/4 cup vanilla sugar (for dusting)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large mixing bowl, cream together the softened butter and powdered sugar until smooth and fluffy.
  3. Add the vanilla extract to the mixture.
  4. Gradually mix in the all-purpose flour, ground almonds or walnuts, and salt until just combined.
  5. Shape the dough into crescent forms.
  6. Place the cookies on a parchment-lined baking sheet and bake for 10 to 12 minutes until lightly golden.
  7. Roll the warm cookies in vanilla sugar before cooling them on a wire rack.
