Ground Turkey Pasta

A healthy and delicious pasta dish featuring lean ground turkey, fresh vegetables, and marinara sauce, perfect for busy weeknights.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound ground turkey
  • 8 oz pasta (your choice – penne, spaghetti, or fusilli)
  • 2 cups marinara sauce
  • 1 medium onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 bell pepper, chopped (red or green)
  • 1 teaspoon dried Italian herbs (like oregano and basil)
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Olive oil (for cooking)
  • Parmesan cheese (for serving)
  • Fresh basil (optional, for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Cook the Pasta: Boil a large pot of salted water. Add the pasta and cook according to package instructions. Drain and set aside.
  2. Sauté the Vegetables: Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add chopped onion and bell pepper, and sauté for about 5 minutes until the onion is translucent.
  3. Add Garlic and Turkey: Stir in minced garlic and ground turkey. Cook until turkey is no longer pink, about 7-10 minutes, breaking it apart.
  4. Spice It Up: Add dried Italian herbs, and salt and pepper to taste. Mix well.
  5. Combine with Sauce: Pour marinara sauce into the skillet and stir. Let it simmer on low heat for 5 minutes.
  6. Toss with Pasta: Add the drained pasta to the skillet and gently toss to coat.
  7. Serve: Serve hot, topped with grated Parmesan cheese and chopped basil, if desired.

Notes
