Halloween Bloody Cinnamon Rolls

Delightful cinnamon rolls with a spooky blood-red glaze, perfect for Halloween festivities.

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 3/4 cup milk
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1 tbsp ground cinnamon
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 2 tbsp milk (for glaze)
  • 1 tbsp unsalted butter (for glaze)
  • 1 tbsp red food coloring
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C) and grease a baking dish.
  2. In a bowl, mix flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
  3. Add milk and melted butter; stir until a soft dough forms.
  4. Roll the dough out into a rectangle, about 1/4 inch thick.
  5. Sprinkle with brown sugar and ground cinnamon.
  6. Roll the dough tightly into a log and slice into eight pieces.
  7. Arrange slices in the greased baking dish.
  8. Bake for about 20 minutes until golden brown.
  9. Let cool slightly, then prepare the glaze.
  10. Whisk together powdered sugar, milk, melted butter, vanilla, and red food coloring for glaze.
  11. Drizzle the glaze over the warm rolls and serve.

Notes

Store leftovers in an airtight container for 2-3 days, or refrigerate for up to a week. Can be frozen for up to 2 months.
