Homemade Cranberry Sauce

A quick and easy recipe for homemade cranberry sauce, perfect for holiday meals or everyday dining.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups fresh cranberries
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 cup water
  • Zest of 1 orange
  • 1 teaspoon fresh rosemary, chopped

Instructions

  1. In a medium saucepan, combine 1 cup of water and 1 cup of sugar over medium heat, stirring until the sugar dissolves.
  2. Add 2 cups of fresh cranberries to the saucepan and stir gently.
  3. Increase the heat and bring the mixture to a boil, listening for the cranberries to pop.
  4. Reduce the heat to a simmer and cook for 10 to 15 minutes until the sauce thickens.
  5. Stir in the zest of 1 orange and 1 teaspoon of chopped fresh rosemary.
  6. Remove from heat, allow to cool, and store or serve as desired.

Notes

Homemade cranberry sauce can be made ahead of time and is versatile, pairing well with meats or as a breakfast topping.
