Delicious and nutritious turkey meatballs infused with sweet honey and tangy garlic, perfect for family dinners or gatherings.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound ground turkey
  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs (preferably whole wheat)
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1/4 cup finely chopped onion
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried thyme
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 1/4 cup ketchup
  • 1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil (for cooking)
  • Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground turkey, breadcrumbs, and grated Parmesan cheese.
  2. Add the finely chopped onion and minced garlic to the bowl.
  3. Crack the egg into the mixture to bind all the ingredients.
  4. Pour in the soy sauce, and sprinkle in the salt, black pepper, oregano, and thyme.
  5. Mix everything together until just combined to avoid tough meatballs.
  6. Roll approximately 1.5 tablespoons of the mixture into balls and place them on a baking sheet.
  7. In a small saucepan, combine honey, ketchup, and apple cider vinegar, heat until bubbling.
  8. Reduce heat and let the sauce simmer for 5 minutes.
  9. In a skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat and cook the meatballs for 5-7 minutes until browned.
  10. Pour sauce over meatballs, toss to coat, and let them simmer in sauce for an additional 10-15 minutes or until cooked through.
