Instant Pot Shredded Beef

A hearty and comforting shredded beef recipe that’s quick and easy to prepare in an Instant Pot, perfect for tacos, sandwiches, or as a main dish.

  • 2 pounds beef chuck roast
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup beef broth
  • 1 tablespoon smoked paprika
  • 1 teaspoon cumin
  • 1 teaspoon chili powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Set your Instant Pot to sauté mode and heat the olive oil. Add the chopped onion and cook until translucent, about 3-5 minutes.
  2. Add minced garlic and cook for another minute.
  3. Season the beef roast with salt, pepper, smoked paprika, cumin, and chili powder, coating it evenly.
  4. Add the seasoned beef to the pot and pour the beef broth over it.
  5. Seal the lid on the Instant Pot and cook on high pressure for 60 minutes.
  6. Allow the pressure to release naturally for about 10 minutes, then quick release any remaining pressure.
  7. Remove the beef and shred it with two forks until fluffy and stringy.
  8. Serve immediately or store for later use.

Notes

For best results, use a chuck roast for juiciness. Adjust spices to your taste preferences.
