Instant Pot Turkey Chili

A hearty and flavorful turkey chili made quickly in the Instant Pot, packed with protein and colorful veggies for a nutritious meal.

  • 1 lb ground turkey
  • 1 medium sweet potato, diced
  • 1 cup quinoa, rinsed
  • 1 can black beans, drained and rinsed
  • 1 can diced tomatoes
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 cups chicken broth
  • 1 tablespoon chili powder
  • 1 teaspoon cumin
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Olive oil for sautéing

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Instant Pot by setting it to ‘Sauté’ mode.
  2. Add olive oil, chopped onion, and minced garlic. Sauté for 3-5 minutes until translucent.
  3. Add ground turkey, breaking it apart with a spoon, and cook until browned, about 5-7 minutes.
  4. Mix in sweet potato, quinoa, black beans, diced tomatoes, and chicken broth.
  5. Add chili powder, cumin, salt, and pepper. Stir to combine.
  6. Close the lid and set the valve to sealing. Select ‘Manual’ and set the timer for 15 minutes.
  7. After cooking, perform a quick release of the pressure.
  8. Stir well, taste and adjust seasoning if needed.
  9. Serve hot with optional toppings like cilantro, avocado, or cheese.

Notes

Let the chili sit for 10-15 minutes after cooking for improved flavor. Experiment with additional spices and ingredients based on personal preference.
