Irresistibly Soft Christmas Gooey Butter Cookies

Delightfully soft and gooey cookies perfect for holiday celebrations, made with cream cheese and festive sprinkles.

  • 8 oz Full-fat Cream Cheese
  • 1 cup Unsalted Butter (softened)
  • 1 large Egg
  • 1 tsp Vanilla Extract
  • 1 box Yellow Cake Mix
  • 1 cup Holiday Sprinkles
  • 1 cup Powdered Sugar

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine cream cheese and softened butter, mixing until creamy and smooth.
  3. Add the egg and vanilla extract, mixing until well combined.
  4. Gradually add the yellow cake mix, mixing on low speed until no dry mix remains.
  5. Gently fold in the holiday sprinkles with a spatula.
  6. If desired, chill the dough for about 30 minutes.
  7. Roll the dough into balls about the size of a tablespoon.
  8. Coat the dough balls in powdered sugar.
  9. Place on a baking sheet and bake for 10-12 minutes until edges are lightly golden.
  10. Let cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack.

Notes

Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 5 days, in the fridge for up to a week, or freeze for up to three months.
