Nutella Mummy Hand Pies

Delightful hand pies filled with creamy Nutella and bananas, shaped like mummies, perfect for Halloween or festive occasions.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 sheets of ready-roll puff pastry (vegan & gluten-free)
  • 6 tablespoons of Vegan Nutella
  • 2 medium-sized bananas
  • 3 tablespoons of dairy-free milk (for the ‘egg wash’)
  • 2 tablespoons of caster/granulated sugar
  • 1 packet of dairy-free white chocolate buttons
  • 2 tablespoons of icing sugar (for dusting)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 200°C (400°F).
  2. On a lightly floured surface, lay out the puff pastry and roll it out if needed.
  3. Cut the pastry into rectangles (roughly 4 inches by 6 inches).
  4. Spread 1.5 tablespoons of Nutella on four rectangles, leaving a border.
  5. Add banana slices on top of the Nutella.
  6. Seal with another pastry rectangle and crimp edges with a fork.
  7. Brush with dairy-free milk for the ‘egg wash’.
  8. Sprinkle sugar over the top of each pie.
  9. Use leftover pastry to create thin strips as “mummy bandages” on top.
  10. Bake for 15-20 minutes or until golden brown.
  11. Let cool slightly and melt dairy-free white chocolate for decoration.
  12. Use melted chocolate to create eyes on each pie.
  13. Dust with icing sugar before serving.

Notes

Store leftovers in an airtight container at room temperature for 1-2 days, or refrigerate for longer storage.
