Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
In a large bowl, combine the pumpkin puree and brown sugar. Beat until smooth.
In another bowl, whisk together flour, pumpkin pie spice, and baking soda. Gradually add this mixture to the pumpkin mixture, stirring until just blended.
Gently fold in the chocolate chips until evenly distributed throughout the dough.
Using a cookie scoop or tablespoon, drop the dough onto the prepared baking sheet, spacing them about 2 inches apart.
Bake for 12-15 minutes, until the edges are golden and the centers look set but soft.
Remove from the oven and allow to cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
