A delightful treat with a soft, pillowy texture and incredible flavor, Savory Pull Apart Bread is perfect for sharing at parties or enjoying as a side dish.

  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 packet (2 1/4 tsp) instant yeast
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 cup warm milk
  • 2 tablespoons fresh herbs (like rosemary or thyme), chopped
  • Garlic powder (optional)
  • Additional melted butter for brushing

Instructions

  1. Mix the dry ingredients in a large bowl: flour, yeast, salt, and sugar.
  2. Add melted butter and warm milk, mixing until a dough forms.
  3. Knead the dough on a floured surface for 5-7 minutes until smooth and elastic.
  4. Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover and let it rise in a warm spot for about 1 hour.
  5. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  6. Punch down the dough, then divide it into small pieces the size of golf balls.
  7. Flatten each piece and sprinkle with herbs and garlic powder, if using.
  8. Layer the seasoned pieces in a greased loaf pan.
  9. Cover the loaf pan and let it rise for another 30 minutes.
  10. Brush the top with melted butter before baking.
  11. Bake in the preheated oven for about 25-30 minutes until golden brown.
  12. Allow to cool slightly before serving.

Notes

Best served warm with olive oil or marinara sauce for dipping. Can be stored at room temperature for up to 2 days or frozen for up to 3 months.
