Southern-Style Green Bean Casserole

A creamy and savory casserole featuring green beans, perfect for family gatherings and holidays.

Ingredients

  • 1 can of green beans (or 2 cups fresh green beans, cooked)
  • 1 can of cream of mushroom soup
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1 cup of French fried onions
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine the green beans, cream of mushroom soup, milk, salt, and pepper.
  3. Pour the mixture into a greased casserole dish and spread it evenly.
  4. Bake for 25 minutes.
  5. Stir in half of the French fried onions, and top with the remaining onions and cheddar cheese, if using.
  6. Return to the oven and bake for an additional 10-15 minutes until bubbly and golden brown.
  7. Allow to cool for a few minutes before serving warm.

Notes

Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 3 days in the refrigerator, or freeze for up to 3 months.
