Sweet Potato Casserole

A classic holiday dish featuring creamy sweet potatoes topped with toasted marshmallows and crunchy pecans.

  • 4 cups sweet potatoes, cooked and mashed
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 1/4 cup butter, melted
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
  • 1 cup miniature marshmallows
  • 1 cup pecans, chopped

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large bowl, combine the sweet potatoes, brown sugar, milk, melted butter, vanilla extract, cinnamon, and nutmeg. Mix until smooth.
  3. Transfer the mixture into a greased baking dish and spread evenly.
  4. Bake for 25 minutes.
  5. Remove from oven and sprinkle marshmallows and pecans on top.
  6. Return to oven and bake for an additional 10 minutes, until marshmallows are golden brown.
  7. Allow to cool slightly before serving.

Notes

For added flavor, consider garnishing with extra chopped pecans or a drizzle of maple syrup.
