Tea Time Chocolate Loaf Cake

A moist and rich chocolate loaf cake infused with coffee, perfect for afternoon gatherings or brunch.

Ingredients

  • 1.5 sticks Butter (at room temperature)
  • 3/4 cup Granulated Sugar
  • 1 tsp Instant Coffee
  • 3 Eggs (at room temperature)
  • 1 Egg Yolk
  • 1 tsp Vanilla Extract
  • 3/4 cup All-Purpose Flour
  • 6 tbsp Cocoa Powder
  • 1/2 tsp Baking Powder
  • 1 stick Butter (for frosting, at room temperature)
  • 4 oz Sweetened Condensed Milk
  • 1.5 tsp Instant Coffee (for frosting)
  • 1/2 tsp Hot Water

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Grease a 9×5 inch loaf pan.
  3. Cream butter and sugar together until light and fluffy.
  4. Add eggs and egg yolk one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
  5. Stir in vanilla extract and instant coffee.
  6. Sift together flour, cocoa powder, and baking powder in another bowl.
  7. Gradually combine wet and dry mixtures until just combined.
  8. Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan.
  9. Bake for 50-60 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  10. Let cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack.
  11. Beat together frosting ingredients until smooth.
  12. Frost the cooled cake generously.
  13. Slice and serve.

Notes

Serve with tea or coffee and garnish with fresh berries for added flavor.
