Thanksgiving Peas with Pancetta and Pears

A delightful side dish combining the sweetness of pears with the savory flavors of pancetta and peas, perfect for Thanksgiving.

  • 2 cups frozen peas
  • 4 ounces pancetta, diced
  • 1 ripe pear, diced
  • 2 tablespoons Dijon mustard
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Olive oil (optional)

Instructions

  1. Heat a skillet over medium heat and add the diced pancetta. Cook until crispy, about 5 to 7 minutes.
  2. Add the frozen peas to the skillet and cook until heated through, about 3 to 5 minutes.
  3. Stir in the diced pear and cook for a couple more minutes until slightly softened.
  4. In a small bowl, mix together Dijon mustard and lemon juice until well combined.
  5. Pour the mustard mixture over the peas, pancetta, and pear in the skillet and stir to coat evenly.
  6. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  7. Transfer to a serving dish and enjoy warm.
