Sweet Potato Turkey Chili

A hearty and nutritious chili made with sweet potatoes and ground turkey, perfect for cozy meals.

  • 1 lb ground turkey
  • 2 medium sweet potatoes, diced
  • 1 can diced tomatoes
  • 1 cup corn (fresh or frozen)
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 cups chicken broth
  • 1 tablespoon chili powder
  • 1 teaspoon cumin
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Olive oil for cooking

Instructions

  1. In a large pot, heat some olive oil over medium heat.
  2. Add the chopped onion and minced garlic, sautéing until soft and fragrant (about 3-5 minutes).
  3. Introduce the ground turkey to the pot and brown it thoroughly.
  4. Add the diced sweet potatoes, diced tomatoes, corn, chicken broth, chili powder, cumin, salt, and pepper. Stir to combine.
  5. Bring the mixture to a boil, then reduce heat to simmer and cook for about 30 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  6. Taste and adjust seasoning as necessary before serving warm.

Notes

This chili makes great leftovers and can be frozen for future meals. Adjust spices to your preference and feel free to add your favorite toppings.
