Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb ground turkey
  • 1 cup wild rice, uncooked
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 2 garlic cloves, minced
  • 2 cups chicken broth
  • 1 cup mushrooms, sliced
  • 1 cup carrots, diced
  • 1 cup celery, diced
  • 1 teaspoon thyme
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 cup shredded cheese (optional)
  • Fresh parsley for garnish

  4. Stir in sliced mushrooms, diced carrots, and diced celery. Cook for another 5 minutes until slightly softened.
  5. Add uncooked wild rice, chicken broth, and thyme. Season with salt and pepper, and bring to a boil.
  6. Pour the turkey and rice mixture into a greased baking dish and cover with foil.
  7. Bake in the preheated oven for 45 minutes.
  8. If using cheese, remove the foil, sprinkle cheese on top, and bake for an additional 15 minutes, or until cheese is melted and bubbly.
  9. Garnish with fresh parsley before serving.
