  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon fresh ginger, grated
  • 4 cups broccoli florets
  • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
  • 1 small onion, sliced
  • Red pepper flakes (optional, for heat)
  • Sesame seeds for garnish

Instructions
  1. Slice beef against the grain into thin strips, marinate with soy sauce, cornstarch, and baking soda for 15 minutes
  2. Whisk together sauce ingredients (beef broth, soy sauce, brown sugar, hoisin sauce, oyster sauce, sesame oil, cornstarch, garlic, ginger) until cornstarch dissolves
  3. Blanch broccoli florets in boiling salted water for 2-3 minutes until bright green, then drain and rinse with cold water
  4. Heat oil in skillet, sear beef for 1-2 minutes per side until browned but not cooked through, then set aside
  5. Stir-fry onions and blanched broccoli in the same skillet for 2-3 minutes until heated through
  6. Return beef to skillet with sauce, simmer for 2-3 minutes until sauce thickens
  7. Garnish with sesame seeds and serve immediately over steamed rice
