Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or aluminum foil for easy cleanup.
- Pat the chicken thighs dry with paper towels. This helps the skin crisp up beautifully. Place them skin-side up on the prepared baking sheet, making sure they're not touching each other.
- In a small bowl, mix together the olive oil, smoked paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, black pepper, and salt. Brush this mixture evenly over both sides of the chicken thighs.
- Bake for 25 minutes. Meanwhile, prepare the glaze by combining BBQ sauce, brown sugar, and apple cider vinegar in a small saucepan. Heat gently until the sugar dissolves.
- After 25 minutes, remove the chicken from the oven and brush generously with the BBQ glaze. Return to the oven and bake for another 15-20 minutes, or until the internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C) and the glaze is caramelized and sticky.
- Let the chicken rest for 5 minutes before serving. This allows the juices to redistribute throughout the meat, ensuring maximum tenderness.
Notes
Choose bone-in, skin-on chicken thighs for maximum moisture and crispiness. Allow chicken to rest after baking for juicier results. Customize glaze with different BBQ sauces or add honey for extra sweetness.
