- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9-inch cake pan.
- In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, and salt. Set aside.
- In a separate bowl, cream together butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Add eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition. Stir in vanilla extract.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, alternating with milk. Mix until just combined.
- Gently fold in sliced strawberries, being careful not to overmix.
- Pour batter into prepared pan and bake for 35-40 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
- Let cool completely before slicing and serving.
Notes
Toss strawberry slices in a tablespoon of flour before folding into batter to prevent them from sinking and releasing too much moisture. Store strawberry desserts in airtight containers in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
