- In a small bowl, combine warm water, sugar, and instant yeast. Let it sit for 5-10 minutes until frothy.
- In a large mixing bowl, whisk together flour and salt. Create a well in the center for the wet ingredients.
- Pour the yeast mixture and olive oil into the flour well. Mix until a shaggy dough forms. Turn onto a floured surface and knead for 5-7 minutes until smooth and elastic.
- Place dough in a lightly oiled bowl, cover with a damp cloth, and let rise in a warm place for 15 minutes.
- Divide dough into two portions. Roll out on a floured surface to your desired thickness. Transfer to a pizza stone or baking sheet.
- Preheat oven to 475°F (245°C). Add your favorite toppings and bake for 12-15 minutes until crust is golden brown.
Notes
Use a thermometer to ensure water is between 105-110°F for optimal yeast activation. Don't over-flour the dough to prevent dense crust. Let dough rest 5 minutes after kneading for easier shaping. Bake at high heat for crispier crust.
