Instructions
- In a large bowl, combine the Greek yogurt, honey (or maple syrup), and vanilla extract. Mix well until the sweetener is fully dissolved. If you prefer a tangier flavor, add the lemon juice at this stage.
- Blend or mash your chosen fruit until smooth. For a chunkier texture, leave some small pieces. Stir the fruit puree into the yogurt mixture until evenly combined.
- Cover the bowl and refrigerate the mixture for at least 1 hour. This step ensures the flavors meld together and the mixture is cold before churning.
- Pour the chilled mixture into an ice cream maker and churn according to the manufacturer's instructions, usually about 20-25 minutes. If you don't have an ice cream maker, pour the mixture into a shallow container and freeze, stirring every 30 minutes for 2-3 hours until firm.
- Once the frozen yogurt reaches your desired consistency, serve immediately for a soft-serve texture or transfer to a lidded container and freeze for another 1-2 hours for a firmer treat. Top with fresh fruit, granola, or a drizzle of honey.
Notes
Use full-fat Greek yogurt for the creamiest texture. Experiment with flavors like cocoa powder or peanut butter. To prevent ice crystals, press plastic wrap directly onto the surface of the yogurt before sealing the container.
