Ingredients

Ingredients
  • 2 lbs lean ground beef
  • 1 large onion, diced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 can (10.5 oz) condensed cream of mushroom soup
  • 1 can (10.5 oz) condensed cream of chicken soup
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1 bag (32 oz) frozen tater tots
  • 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1/2 teaspoon paprika
  • Salt and black pepper to taste
  • Fresh parsley for garnish

Method

Instructions
  1. In a large skillet over medium-high heat, brown the ground beef with the diced onion and minced garlic. Cook until the beef is no longer pink and the onions are translucent. Drain any excess grease.
  2. In a medium bowl, mix together the cream of mushroom soup, cream of chicken soup, sour cream, Worcestershire sauce, paprika, salt, and pepper. Stir until well combined.
  3. Spread the cooked ground beef mixture evenly across the bottom of your crockpot. Pour half of the creamy sauce over the beef layer.
  4. Arrange a single layer of frozen tater tots over the sauce, covering the entire surface.
  5. Sprinkle the shredded cheddar and mozzarella cheeses evenly over the tater tots.
  6. Pour the remaining creamy sauce over the cheese layer.
  7. Arrange the remaining tater tots in a single layer on top of the casserole.
  8. Cover the crockpot and cook on LOW for 4-6 hours or on HIGH for 2-3 hours. The casserole is ready when it's bubbly around the edges and the tater tots on top are golden brown.
  9. Garnish with fresh parsley and serve hot.

Notes

Choose 85% lean ground beef for best flavor, always brown beef before adding to crockpot, layer components evenly for texture contrast, check doneness 30 minutes early, let casserole rest for 10-15 minutes after cooking for easier serving.
