Baked Eggs Napoleon

A delightful brunch dish featuring flaky puff pastry, creamy eggs, and melted cheese, perfect for impressing guests or enjoying a comforting breakfast.

  • 6 large eggs
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 cup grated cheese (such as Gruyère or cheddar)
  • 1 package puff pastry (2 sheets)
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Chopped fresh herbs (such as chives or parsley) for garnish

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. On a lightly floured surface, roll out the puff pastry and cut it into 4-inch squares.
  3. Place the pastry squares on a baking sheet and bake for 15-20 minutes, or until golden brown.
  4. In a bowl, whisk the eggs and heavy cream; season with salt and pepper.
  5. Once the pastry is baked, make indents in the center of each square.
  6. Pour the egg mixture into the indents of the pastries.
  7. Sprinkle grated cheese on top of the egg-filled pastries.
  8. Return to the oven and bake for another 15-20 minutes until eggs are set and cheese is bubbly.
  9. Garnish with fresh herbs and serve warm.
