Gyro Meatballs

Delicious gyro meatballs packed with savory spices, perfect for a cozy dinner or a gathering.

Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground lamb or beef
  • 1/4 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1/4 cup chopped fresh parsley
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1 teaspoon ground cumin
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Olive oil for cooking

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground lamb or beef with breadcrumbs, grated Parmesan cheese, chopped parsley, minced garlic, dried oregano, ground cumin, salt, and pepper. Mix well, preferably using your hands.
  3. Mold the mixture into meatballs about 1 inch in diameter.
  4. Heat a small amount of olive oil in a skillet over medium heat and brown the meatballs on all sides for about 5-7 minutes.
  5. Transfer the meatballs to a baking sheet lined with parchment paper and bake for 15-20 minutes, or until cooked through.
  6. Serve hot with tzatziki sauce and warm pita bread.

Notes

For added flavor, consider mixing lamb and beef. Fresh herbs are recommended for the best taste.
