Ingredients

Ingredients
  • 1 lb ground turkey
  • 1 small onion, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/4 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1 egg
  • 2 tbsp balsamic vinegar
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1 tbsp brown sugar
  • 4 burger buns
  • Optional toppings: lettuce, tomato, avocado, cheese

Method

Instructions
  1. In a large bowl, combine the ground turkey, finely chopped onion, minced garlic, breadcrumbs, egg, salt, and black pepper. Mix until well combined. Form the mixture into 4 equal-sized patties.
  2. Heat the olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Add the turkey patties and cook for 5-6 minutes on each side, or until fully cooked through and golden brown.
  3. In the same skillet, add the sliced onions and cook over low heat until soft and golden brown, about 10-12 minutes. Stir in the brown sugar and balsamic vinegar, and cook for another 2-3 minutes until the onions are caramelized and glossy.
  4. Toast the burger buns lightly. Place a turkey patty on each bun, top with caramelized onions, and add your favorite toppings such as lettuce, tomato, avocado, or cheese. Drizzle with additional balsamic glaze if desired.

Notes

Avoid overmixing the turkey mixture to keep the patties tender and juicy. For extra richness, add a teaspoon of Worcestershire sauce to the turkey mixture. Patties can be prepared in advance and refrigerated for up to 24 hours before cooking.
