Savory-Sweet Apple Bacon Beer Bread

  • 3 cups All-Purpose Flour
  • 1 tablespoon Baking Powder
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • 2 tablespoons Sugar
  • 1 cup Chopped Apple
  • 1 cup Bacon (cooked and chopped)
  • 1/2 cup Butter (melted)
  • 1 cup Beer
  • 1 cup Cheese (shredded or cubed)
  • 1/2 cup Nuts (chopped, optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Lightly grease a loaf pan.
  3. Cook the bacon until crispy, then chop into small pieces.
  4. In a large bowl, mix together flour, baking powder, salt, and sugar.
  5. In another bowl, combine melted butter and beer, then mix in chopped apples and bacon.
  6. Combine the wet and dry ingredients gently to avoid over-mixing.
  7. Fold in cheese and nuts, if using.
  8. Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan.
  9. Bake for 45 to 55 minutes until golden brown and a toothpick comes out clean.
  10. Let cool in the pan for 10 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.

Serve as a side with soup, for breakfast, in sandwiches, or as a snack. Store leftovers at room temperature wrapped tightly.
